About 30 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. Site is about 13 miles east of Norman off State Road 9. Species include largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, sockeye and white bass. The facilities include several hundred campsites (many with full hookups), lake huts, several boat ramps, developed hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, picnic shelters, two marinas, restaurants and riding stables. They are open 8:00 am to Sundown (in season). There are two marinas to dock a boat after a day of fishing, with nine boat ramps and two beaches made for swimming in the man-made lake. At Lake Thunderbird Marina you can rent Deluxe (90 HP) or Super Deluxe (115 HP) pontoon boats perfect for skiing, tubing and fishing. North Recreation Center This location includes the 18-hole North Golf Course, outdoor tennis courts (with lights for evening play), pro shop and large event room with kitchen ideal for meetings, receptions and special events. Extensive recreational facilities have been constructed at he lake as part of Lake Thunderbird State Park. With two marinas and multiple swimming beaches, the park is any water-loving RV campers dream. 2 swimming pools, miniature golf, playground, meeting rooms/event space with beautiful lakeside views. The lake has approximately 6,000 water surface acres, 7,108 land acres and has 86 miles of shoreline. The lake provide municipal water to Norman, Midwest City and Del City. Norman Dam and Lake Thunderbird, features of the Norman Project, are located on Little River about 13 miles east of downtown Norman.
